AliExpress returns or agent QC photos: which protects a shoe order better?

For most products the AliExpress-or-agent question is about price. For shoes it's about what happens when the pair isn't right — and with trainers, 'not right' usually means size or shape:

AliExpress's return protects you after the fact, and for shoes that's genuinely useful: a free return on a wrong size is better than being stuck with it. The agent route prevents the problem earlier, which is better for anything where the details decide whether you like the pair. Many buyers do both: basic runners and slides on AliExpress, specific models through an agent.

Verdict: Generic trainers: AliExpress and its returns. A specific model where shape matters: an agent and its QC photos.

Which size should you order?

Chinese shoe listings, on AliExpress and Weidian alike, usually give EU sizes, and some give foot length in millimetres ('265' means a 26.5 cm foot). Measure your foot standing, heel to longest toe, in the evening, and use the foot-length column:

Model quirks matter more than any chart, and the tile notes flag them where they're well documented. AliExpress stores often list 'US' sizes that are really converted EU sizes, which can drift by half a size, so trust centimetres over letters. On Weidian, ask the seller or agent for the insole length of your size — it's the single most reliable number.

Verdict: Measure in centimetres, match the foot length, then adjust for the model.

Shipping shoes without paying for air

Shoes are the heaviest thing in most hauls, and the box is often the problem rather than the pair. AliExpress shoppers never see this because each store absorbs its own packaging. Through an agent, shipping is billed on the larger of real weight and volumetric weight, and a shoe box is mostly air:

1. Ask the agent to remove the shoe box unless you need it. It's a standard option at most agents.
2. Ask for a trial pack ('rehearsal' at some agents) on bulky parcels, to see volumetric weight before choosing a line.
3. Pick an actual-weight line where offered; they bill on the scale.
4. Fill the gaps with soft items such as tees and socks.

US buyers should also know that some agents' cheapest US lines are clothing-only; a parcel with shoes in it has to go on a different line. The duty calculator shows shipping and duty together once you have the weight.
