Is PinguBuy legit? What we checked

PinguBuy is a small agent with a surprisingly large search footprint — 'pingubuy' is searched about 2,900 times a month in the US, more than several bigger agents — and questions like 'pingubuy website' and 'is pingubuy legit' suggest people aren't sure what they've found. Here's what we checked:

A published address is more than several agents offer, and nothing suggests PinguBuy has closed. But 45 reviews is a small sample, and six months of silence after a steady trickle is the pattern we mark yellow on every agent. It may simply mean fewer customers leave reviews; it may mean fewer customers.

Verdict: PinguBuy looks real but under-tested. Fine for a small trial; not for a big balance.

PinguBuy, Pingu Exchange and lookalike sites

One oddity: searches for PinguBuy also pull up 'Pingu Exchange', a crypto trading platform that shares the penguin theme and has been compared with PinguBuy on at least one crypto blog. They are different things. PinguBuy is a shopping agent that buys from Chinese marketplaces; if a site asks you to deposit crypto or trade tokens, you're not on the agent.

As with any agent, type pingubuy.com yourself rather than following a link from a spreadsheet or a message. Small agents are easy to imitate, and a lookalike domain with the same logo costs nothing to set up.

A low-risk first PinguBuy order

A sensible way to find out whether PinguBuy works for you, without much at stake:

1. Pick one or two light items from the under-$20 sheet. Cheap and light keeps the risk small.
2. Pay by card or PayPal, which gives you a dispute route. Top up only what that order needs.
3. Note the dates. When the item reaches the warehouse, when QC photos arrive, when you submit the parcel. Stuck parcels were the main complaint, so the timeline is your evidence.
4. Ask for the shipping quote in writing before paying, and compare it with the calculator.

If that order moves normally, you'll know more than any review page can tell you. If it stalls, you've risked very little.

Whatever the outcome, write a short Trustpilot review afterwards with dates. A small agent's reputation is built from exactly those details, and six months without a new review is a gap that honest first-hand accounts fill better than any status page.

PinguBuy's help centre lists 'merged delivery': items from different Chinese shops are gathered at its warehouse and sent as one parcel. AliExpress has its own version — Combined Delivery and Choice — which merges some orders shipped through its own logistics network. The difference is scope:

If your basket is mostly eligible AliExpress items, Combined Delivery gets you most of the parcel saving without an agent. If it's spread across Chinese shops that don't sell on AliExpress, an agent's merge is the only way to get one box — which is exactly why testing a small agent like PinguBuy carefully is worth the effort.
